Successful Christian Surfers National Conference this weekend!! We had the privilege of hosting in JBay! God definitely did some awesome things. The worship band had to cancel with us, and it just happens that one of our interns Hannah loves leading worship and Dustin (an Aleph intern) is also annointed to do the job. It clicked, they put the two together and we had an amazing, unplugged weekend of praise. The CSALT Interns worked hard as a team putting it together. Andy was rocking the MC job once again and I was taking on the hospitality sector with tea, coffee and breakfasts.
Brett Davis, founder of Christian Surfers International came to hang with us and share some insight and wisdom. If you are interested in “the Christian Surfers Story” please check him out online.

His major topic of choice is living out God’s calling on our lives instead of others callings on our lives. We need to pay careful attention to our “working” for people instead of following God. We can do all the “right” things, but God’s number one desire is that we love Him above all else. That we forsake all others to love Him with everything we have, because He loved us first. A free gift that we do not deserve. I’ve heard it over and over again, but somehow its importance hits a nerve. Second is almost equal. Love and serve your spouse. A unified marriage will pour out into an empowered ministry. When we start focusing on working for God, we forget who we serve. We forget what kingdom we are building. This is so vital to our existence.
“Revelation 2: 4 Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first. 5 Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first.”
I cannot say it enough, because this truth has just boggled my mind. God has given us passions and personality for a reason! Serve Him by being YOU.
The Aleph boys joined us for part of the conference… Shelton was being camera shy
Andy made a game called “Banana” ping pong. J.J is NOT impressed
Beach Clean up: The guys found a fridge door?? STOKED!!
The RVCA Junior Series competition was on this weekend as well! Another one of our interns Emma Smith was competing and placed 1st in the Under 20 girls final heat! We are so stoked for her. This is opening loads of opportunities for her. The “Saltwater Girl” Magazine came out with her face on the cover after the finals! God is going to be able to use her in the surfing culture in so many ways! It was such an opportunity to see amazing surfers in a world class surf spot like JBay!!
Emma Shredding hard in her final heat

Such a great weekend! We have some “groms” bunking with us in the CSALT house this week because the waves are “cooking”. Getting prepped to start our mission phase in Capetown next week!!
